Miguel Gomes is a passionate and cuisine enthusiast. He wanted to study sports, but after an internship in the kitchen of Hotel Albatroz where he met chef José Avillez, he turned to cooking and enrolled in the school of Hotel and Tourism in Estoril.

Since then, he has always worked in renowned restaurants such has:

  • “Sergi Arola”, by Sergi Arola, a 2 Michelin stars in Madrid;
  • “O Cantinho do Avillez”, by José Avillez;
  • “Belcanto”, by José Avillez, in 2012, when it was distinguished with its first Michelin star;
  • Hemingway in Cascais;
  • “Mini Bar”, by José Avillez;
  • “A Taberna”, by José Avillez;
  • “O Páteo”, by José Avillez;

Today, Miguel is back to “Belcanto”. This exquisit restaurante, elected in 2015 by the prestigious “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List” as one of the best 100 restaurants in the world, was awarded in 2014 with it’s second Michelin Star, a distinction that still holds today.

During TUGA TANGO, you may not be experiencing menus such as you would in restaurants like the ones mentioned above, but we’ve made a commitment to raise the standarts this year and so, what you may expect is good, tasty and abundant food, prepared by a passionate and experienced Chef that will be dedicated to you during the entire event and who’s things he loves the most in life are to cook and gather friends around a table!

Clara Viegas is a portuguese mom. And whatelse is there to say?

Responsible for all the snacks in between the main meals, sweet and savory, she has been our precious diamond, preparing for months in advance all the exquisit tastes that have delighted the TUGA TANGO Marathoners of the 2013, 2015, 2017. 2019 and 2022 editions.

This year, Clara will be preparing some exquisit novelties just for you and we promise a special treat for every single dancer, being him/her either lactose intolerant, celiac or simply demanding!

One thing’s for sure: you may count on an happy stomach along the dancefloor!
